Eswatini joined the SWA partnership in 2017. The Kingdom of Eswatini and sector partners developed consolidated results framework with localized indicators in line with the global SDGs. In line with the SWA Framework and consistent with the SDG indicator 6.1 and 6.2, the government has led the process of developing a National Development Strategy (Vision 2022) that sets a target of 100% access to water and sanitation by 2022. In efforts to change the sanitation and water access outlook the sector line ministries with support from multi stakeholders and in line with the SDG targets, have led the development of strategies and sector policies that focus on achieving universal access to water and sanitation by 2030.The sector through multi stakeholder forum, also conducts the Joint Sector reviews. The Kingdom of Eswatini’s national constitution recognizes access to water and sanitation a human right.
