Next week, SWA is convening a meeting in Lusaka for focal points from Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe. SWA is multi-stakeholder, so these Focal Points include governments, civil society, donors, and other constituencies.
There is now an increased understanding of the implications of the SDGs and the need for continued political will and leadership to remove bottlenecks to progress towards universal access to water, sanitation and hygiene. The meeting will provide a platform for cross-country learning. It will also help Government and stakeholders assess progress on some of the sector building blocks including monitoring, planning, regulations, accountability, and in particular on leaving no-one behind.
