The High-level Political Forum (HLPF) is the United Nations central platform for follow-up and review of the Sustainable Development Goals. Each year, the Forum chooses some Goals for review and SDG 6 will be one of the sub-set of Goals to be examined in depth during the 2018 session on 9-18 July, at UN Headquarters in New York.
SWA will be involved in a series of events at the HLPF and welcomes all participants:
This event will bring together senior representatives from the governments of Madagascar, Mali, Zambia, France and partners (Action contre la Faim, French Water Partnership, World Bank, Global Taskforce on Cholera Control, Save the Children, Sanitation and Water for All (SWA), Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN), UNICEF, WaterAid, World Health Organization) working across WASH, Health and Nutrition to share lessons and discuss challenges, creating a peer-learning experience and fostering greater multi-sectoral coordination and collaboration.

The findings of a Global Study on National Accountability Mechanisms for SDG 6, conducted in 25 countries, reveals that three years after the adoption of the
Sustainable Development Agenda, the right mechanisms for holding governments to account on progress towards SDG 6 are insufficiently in place. In launching these findings, the event will bring diverse perspectives (governments, CSOs, development partners, and UN agencies) to the discussion and make recommendations for strengthening national accountability and CSO engagement in progressing towards SDG 6.
SWA, the Scaling Up Nutrition Movement, Every Woman Every Child and the Global Partnership for Education, cordially invite you to an interactive breakfast discussion during the upcoming High-level Political Forum. The event will showcase country experiences of multi-sectoral, multi-stakeholder policies and programs, especially across WASH, nutrition, health and education, and identify good practices for successful SDG implementation through moderated table discussions. Simultaneous English/French/Spanish interpretation will be available.
Please confirm your participation by 10 July 2018 to this email.
