SWA partners have new SWA CSO Advisor

Jen Williams has been appointed by End Water Poverty as SWA’s new CSO Adviser.

Jen has lived in Uganda for the past 16 months, while working as an Advocacy Advisor with WaterAid Uganda and the Uganda Water and Sanitation NGO Network. Her work has included monitoring of the commitments made at the 2012 High Level Meeting, in addition to playing a key role in country-level dialogues and inter-ministerial meetings in preparation of the 2014 High Level Meeting commitments.

She has also undertaken a variety of consultancy projects in Uganda focused on water and sanitation including with Innovations for Poverty Action and ITAD Consulting. Previously, she worked with the End Water Poverty coalition as International Campaigns Officer and International Campaigns Coordinator (maternity cover). In this role, she played a key role in the development of the Keep Your Promises campaign which focuses on holding decision-makers to account for their commitments, including those made at SWA High Level Meetings.

Jen functions will be to provide technical and coordination support to facilitate civil society engagement in the Sanitation and Water for All Partnership.

On her appointment, Jen said, “I am very much looking forward to getting started in this exciting role. Having previously worked for End Water Poverty and having been involved in the High Level Commitments Dialogue in Uganda, I am keen to use my experience to support civil society in other countries to actively engage with the Partnership.”
