Following recent elections, the Sanitation and Water for All partnership has a new Steering Committee.
The group met recently in Maputo, Mozambique, SWA's first Steering Committee meeting outside the USA and Europe. During the first day, new members went through an intense induction programme, and during the rest of the week, the full group tackled issues such as SWA's new accountability mechanism, stepping up country-level engagement, increasing the partnership's relevance to middle-income countries, and governance.
The new members are:
- Countries: Costa Rica, Egypt, Nepal and Viet Nam.
- Civil Society Organizations: Asociación Regional Centroamericana para el Agua y el Ambiente (ARCA) (Latin America and), Development Organization of the Rural Poor (DORP) (Asia) and Nagar Daridra Basteebashir Unnayan Sangstha (NDBUS) (Community-based Organizations)
- External Support Agencies: the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC)
- Private Sector: AquaFed
